Kindred Youth Ministry (KYM) is a community desiring to bring excellent resources together to help youth pastors in their ministry and calling.
KYM wanted to create social media posts and content that would draw engagement from youth workers as well as create online community.
KYM provides two pieces of content each week, blog posts or video from their website, and we curate content for the remaining weekly posts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. We post up to twice a day depending on the media platform. Our posts vary from articles, memes, surveys, conversation starters, videos, resources, and more.
We are fortunate to have several youth ministry veterans on our Bright Salt staff. The ministry experience allows us to curate content relevant to youth workers. We spend time each week searching resources, reading articles, and creating graphics for social media posts. We allow KYM the opportunity to view all posts before they are made live to ensure we encompass the “voice” of KYM.
Another essential part of the process is tracking the insights and analytics of all social media posts. Bright Salt staff regularly checks the reach and engagement of every post. This teaches us what KYM’s community is drawn toward and which type of organic (non-paid) posts have the greatest reach.
Finally, Bright Salt Media Labs takes KYM’s advertising budget and helps strategize the best use of resources in Facebook advertising. We create campaigns targeting effective audiences for their desired reach.
As part of the digital strategy implementation we did with Kindred Youth Ministry, we published 14 times per week to their Facebook page and also ran a paid advertising campaign on Facebook for every blog post. We targeted an audience of youth pastors across the U.S., and have grown their Facebook followers to 1100 likes and continue to grow in organic reach.
